(Tippecanoe County)- Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter has announced the promotion of Trooper Jeremy K. Piers to the rank of Sergeant within the Lafayette District. He will serve as the Public Information Officer for Indiana State Police Lafayette Post.
Piers is a native of Washington, Illinois and a 2012 graduate of Washington Community High School. In 2016, he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology from Western Illinois University.
On November 19, 2015, Piers graduated from the 75th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was appointed as a Trooper assigned to the Lafayette Post. During his career, Piers has served as a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon, All Crimes Policing Team, and as a Field Training Officer. In 2017 he was awarded Trooper of the District for the Lafayette Post and he was a recipient of the Department’s Life Saving Award in 2018.
Piers is a resident of Tippecanoe County.
