Students have returned to school throughout Putnam County, with the Putnam County Health Department approving the procedures each school created in case of a positive Covid-19 case. Now, only in week two, two schools in Putnam County have confirmed reported cases of Covid-19, Cloverdale Community School Corporation and Area 30 of Greencastle.
Cloverdale Community Schools Superintendent, Greg Linton, posted a statement on the school website.
“As we enter our second full week of school, CCSC has identified a small number of students who have tested positive for COVID-19,” Linton wrote. “School administration has worked closely with the Putnam County Health Department to quickly contact all individuals who have been in contact with those who have tested positive.”
Lora Busch, Executive Director of Area 30, released a similar statement on the Area 30 website.
“As we enter week two, Area 30 has received notification that a small number of students have tested positive for COVID-19. Administration has worked with our sending school corporations and the Health Department to notify the individuals who have had close contact with those who have tested positive.”
Both schools are encouraging staff, students, and their families to continue practicing social distancing, washing hands, and wearing PPE. At this time, there are no other reported cases in local schools.
