Eviction, Foreclosure, and Utility Moratorium Set to expire August 14

STATEWIDE(August 6, 2020) — Indiana’s moratorium on evictions, foreclosures, and utility disconnects will be allowed to expire August 14th. Governor Eric Holcomb made the announcement at his weekly coronavirus briefing yesterday. However, just because the moratorium is expiring doesn’t mean the state is not going to stop helping people who are in danger of being evicted. A settlement facilitation program is being developed to help those facing evictions and foreclosures reach agreements with their tenants or landlords. The Hoosier state is also adding 15-million dollars to their rental assistance program.
