Doctor Says its Safe for Students to Return to School

INDIANAPOLIS — The top doctor in Indiana’s largest county says it is safe to send kids back to school next month. Marion County Health Department Director Dr. Virginia Caine yesterday said while the state’s coronavirus count is growing, it is nowhere near where the numbers were during the peak earlier this year. Caine’s comments come as schools across the state decide whether they will start the school year with in-person classes or online. Caine says the coronavirus will change, but she says there is nothing in the data that she sees that should keep kids out of the classroom.
