|TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a small structure replacement project begins on or after Monday, July 13 on State Road 25 in Tippecanoe County. The closure on S.R. 25 over Wallace Ditch is located approximately 1.5 miles south of S.R. 28 or just south of C.R. 1100 S.
The detour follows S.R. 28 to S.R. 341 to S.R. 55 and back.
Rieth-Riley Construction Co. was awarded the $440,769 contract. The roadway is scheduled to reopen on September 4.

In 2019, Indiana Criminal Justice Institute reported that distracted driving from mobile devices was a factor in at least 1,263 crashes and three fatal crashes. To make Hoosier roads safer, Governor Eric J. Holcomb signed the Indiana Hands-Free law to reduce distracted driving across the state. Beginning July 1, 2020, drivers are prohibited from holding a mobile device, except in emergencies, while their vehicles are moving.
