It is with a heavy heart the Fair Parade Committee announces the 2020 Fair Parade will be postponed until 2021. The aspects of the social distancing requirements will be too difficult to practice in the face of the Coronavirus Pandemic and the unknowns surrounding it.
The Parade committee is hoping to make the the 2021 4H Fair Parade a bigger and better experience. Nancy Michael stated, “Rest assured, we will rise from this.”
The Fair Parade committee would like to thank everyone who was willing to step up and help with this year’s Parade plans. The tradition of the parade as a kick off to the Fair is one that is treasured by all. Special thanks to Lee Fordice & the Putnam County Fair Board, Mark Evans with Purdue Extension, Putnam County Comprehensive Services, CERT Team, Jack’s Trash , Greencastle Police Chief Tom Sutherlin, Brad Phillips with the Greencastle Department of Public Works, Rod Weinschenk at Greencastle Parks & Recreation, Rob Harper-DPU & Boy Scouts, WREB, Banner Graphic, Mayor Dory, INDOT, Greencastle School Corporation, our volunteers and the many others who were willing to have a conversation to make the Parade happen.
Christopher Reeves once said, “Once you choose hope, anything is possible.” The Committee would like to thank you for your patience and look forward to the 2021 Fair Parade as an annual event we have come to know and love.
