Vernon Garry Souder, 78, of Bowling Green, Indiana, was received into the loving arms of Jesus on May 21, 2020.
Vernon was born on August 26, 1941, in Bedford, Indiana, the son of Vernon Gayles and Emilie Mable (Donica) Souder. He graduated from Cory High School with the class of 1960. Following high school he attend IBM College in Illinois. Vernon worked as a farmer all of his life. He also worked for Penn Central and ConRail as a dispatcher. Vernon worked for Clay Community Schools as a school bus driver as well. He married Jeanette on August 30, 1995.
He was a devoted member of Maryland Community Church.
When he wasn’t working Vernon loved shopping, gardening, fishing, and traveling.
Vernon is survived by his wife Jeanette Souder of Bowling Green; children: Dee and Kim Souder of Cory, Don and Julie Souder of Cory, Dan Souder of Cory, Doug and Helen Souder of Clay City, Josh and Ashley Tienken of Sheridan, and Katie – his only girl and best buddy, of Bowling Green; grandchildren: Britney and Kyle Young, Codee and Kristin Souder, Ali and Rhett Bigger, Cassie Souder, Kaden Souder, Jessica and Travis Jackson, Clint and Rochelle Souder, Austin Souder, Baylen Souder, Dusty and Megan Souder; great-grandchildren: Eliza, Eva, Eldon, Colton, Jax, Case, Treyton, Keaton, Hayleigh, Kenzie, Bentley, Hudson, Landin, and Daxton as well as many extended family members.
