Sharon Louise (Hicks) Wilson, 82, Crawfordsville, died on May 19, 2020, at Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation in Crawfordsville.
Sharon was born July 20, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, to Sherman Fairchild Hicks and Melba Zahn (Withrow) Hicks. She married Hillis Hubert Wilson on June 28, 1961, and they had two children, Mike and Sam, during their 54 years of marriage.
Sharon dedicated her life to homemaking and charity work, such as making blankets and afghans for traumatized children. She also helped on the family farm in Yountsville, and enjoyed gardening and cooking. Additionally, Sharon supported her husband as he served for 30 years as a lay pastor at Prairie Chapel in Fountain County.
Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as reading, sewing and crocheting.
Sharon is survived by her brothers, Larry Hicks of Temperance, Michigan, and James Hicks of Lancaster, Texas; her sons and their spouses, Michael and Sarah Wilson of Newburgh; Samuel and Amy Wilson of Indianapolis; and grandchildren Christina Wilson, Stephanie Wilson and Joshua Wilson.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hubert Wilson, and her sister, Janice Hicks of Toledo.
There will be a private funeral service and burial at Oak Hill Cemetery South in Crawfordsville. The service will be recorded, which can be viewed on Sharon’s obituary page at ww.sandersfuneralcare.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made in Sharon’s memory be given to the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
