Janet Beverly Clements died Sunday, May 10, 2020, at the age of 82.
Janet was born March 31, 1938, at Browns Valley, Indiana, the youngest of four girls born to Ervin and Daisy Payne. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1956. She then married her life-long partner of 64 years, Thomas Duane “Chick” Clements. She and Chick spent countless hours exercising, dancing and riding their bikes together. Their devotion to each other was indestructible and inspiring. She also volunteered her time to the Wesley Thrift Shop and was a volunteer teacher’s aide for Hose Elementary School. She loved to solve crossword puzzles and read and she instilled that desire to read in her children.
She is survived by her husband, Chick Clements, and three of her four children, Damon Duane (Robin) Clements of Crawfordsville, Angela Beth Clements of Crawfordsville and Steven Kelly (Michellene) Clements of Hollywood, Florida; six grandchildren, Kyle (Kelly) Clements, Kristin (Hunter) Johnson, Patrick Clements, Joshua (Marissa) Clements, Carrie Ann Clements and Casey Clements; and several great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her beloved son, Andrew Kent Clements, who died Sept. 11, 2016.
A private, family gathering is planned to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, consider donating to an organization or charity that promotes and supports literacy.
Finally, Janet’s family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to all the staff at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville who, in this very difficult time, were dedicated in their efforts to care for and help her feel better in her final days.
