Alarms.org Publishes National STD Report for 2020, Revealing States with Highest Rates of STDs
February 11, 2020 — Alarms.org announced its annual National STD Report, unveiling the states with the highest rate of STD cases per capita. While STDs have been the rise throughout the country, the report shows that many states have found a way to diminish their rate of incidences. This report was created to curtail this epidemic by increasing public awareness of how dire the situation is in particular states, especially now that Valentine’s day is just around the corner.

Millions of new STD cases are diagnosed every year. Diminishing news coverage might have one thinking otherwise, but sexually transmitted pathogens continue to pervasively infect the wellbeing of the population (especially in young adults). Serious health scares and complications can largely be avoided with the right information, open discussion, and appropriate testing.
The National STD report contains detailed information from the latest reports provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with the respective U.S. Census data to calculate rates on a per-capita basis. Rankings were calculated mainly as a result of the most common STD averages in each state.
