Patricia L. (Mitchell) Edwards, 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and formerly of Clay City, Indiana, passed away at Exceptional Living Center of Brazil, Indiana on January 10, 2020.
Pat was born on August 13, 1932, in Clay City, Indiana, the daughter of Floyd and Phoebe Jane (Edmondson) Mitchell. She graduated from Clay City High School. Pat worked in the medical records department at Indianapolis hospitals for the state of Indiana.
She enjoyed traveling around the world and sewing. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and doting on her nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Indianapolis and New Hope Baptist Church in Clay City.
She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Phoebe Jane Mitchell, her husband, Robert Edwards, whom she married on October 12, 1974, and her brothers Galen Mitchell and Ivan Dale Mitchell.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Ruby Mitchell; nieces and nephews Lynnetta Thompson (Brent), Phyllis Mitchell, Debbie Mitchell, Jack Mitchell (Joanie), Bill Mitchell (Phyllis), and Bob Mitchell (Verna); as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 East Eighth Street Clay City, Indiana 47841, on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, from 11:00am until 1:00pm.
