Mary Elizabeth Bryan, 83, of Brazil, Indiana passed away at home on November 4, 2019 following an extended illness.
Mary was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on July 15, 1936, the daughter of Vernon L. and Elizabeth (Nagy) Smith. Mary graduated from Ivy Tech College with the 1st graduating LPN class in 1972. She married James Bryan who passed away in February 2019. Together, they owned and operated Liberty Ave. Tavern and Bryan’s Plumbing. Mary enjoyed cutting grass, working in her flower garden and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children: Debra Sutherland and husband Gerald, Rita Morris (Terry Rhuebottom), and Karen Bryan; grandchildren: Mike, Charity (Ricky), Angela, Holly, and Gavin; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Jacob, Zachary, McKayla, Kaylee, Keyston, Kenleigh, and Klark; great-great-grandson: August; a sister Deloris Welch; brothers: Louis Smith, Joseph Smith, and Edward Withers; as well as several extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Bryan; parents: Vernon “Pete” Smith and Elizabeth Smith; step-father Marion Withers; a sister Patricia Large and Margaret Churchill, and a brother Chuck Smith.
Graveside services will be at Clearview Cemetery, on November 6, 2019 at 1:00pm with Father Hollowell officiating.
