Gladys L. Gentry

Gladys Lorraine Gentry, 82, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on September 26, 2019 following an extended illness.

She was born in Oakville, Iowa, on May 25, 1937, the daughter of John and Verlee (Wykert) Kramer. She graduated from Oakville High School. She worked at Champion Spark Plug where she served as the union secretary. She worked at Jack’s Discount Store. She retired as an over-the-road truck driver with her husband Clifford. Throughout the years she worked as an Avon Sales Representative and earned the distinction of being in the Presidents Club. Most recently she worked at the Brazil Times and Cornerstone Christian Academy as a custodian.

When she wasn’t working she enjoyed camping, bowling, gardening, flower gardening, reading, listening to talk radio and water aerobics.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Gentry whom she married on May 15, 1955; her parents John and Verlee Kramer; step-father Arthur Cook; brother Charles Kramer; son-in-law David Bozarth.

Survivors include her children: Lynnette Shaffer and husband Jeff of Missouri, Kelly Bozarth of Brazil, Shannon Heald and husband Rich of Brazil and Brandon Gentry and wife Heather of Indianapolis; grandchildren: C.J. Shaffer (Rachel), Christopher Shaffer, Jillian Phillips (Michael), Bethany Dake (Justin), Ali Heald, Grant Heald (Bailey), Parker Gentry, and Sophia Gentry; great-grandchildren: Kyle Gentry (Toby), Bailey Gentry, Vance Gentry, Brianna Dake, Zoey Dake, Danielle Shaffer, Amos Phillips, Silas Phillips, and Naomi Phillips; great-great-grandchildren: Mayson Gentry, Benson Gentry, and Grace Gentry; siblings: Rose Brees, Donald Kramer (Janet), Joan Gerst, Mary Brown (Robert), Susan Simmons (Randall); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. A celebration of life will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, at 3:00pm.
