Nina Fenton

Nina May (Piersall) Fenton of Crawfordsville and formerly of Robinson, Illinois, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 14, 2019, at the Ben Hur Home. She was 92.

Mrs. Fenton retired from TDS in Roachdale. She liked to cook and crochet. In earlier days, she and her husband liked to travel and go camping and were members of the Wells Fargo Camping Club. She was also a member of the Mace United Methodist Church.

Born May 29, 1927, at Pierson Station, Illinois, she was the daughter of Paul Piersall and Ruth Willard Piersall. She attended school at Hutsonville.  She married William H. Fenton Jr. on Oct. 31, 1953, at Robinson, Illinois. He passed away March 6, 2014.

Surviving family includes: three sons, Phillip (Janis) Fenton, Ronald Fenton and Donald (Nickol) Fenton; daughter Diana (Mike) Wiles; brother George Piersall; two sisters, Beverly Bomer and Neva Mendenhall; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son Les Fenton; great-granddaughter Olivia; five brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave. Services will begin at 2 p.m., led by her nephew, Pastor Ray Piersall. Burial will follow at Mace Cemetery.
