Michael “Griff” E. Griffin, 78, of Center Point, IN passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in Cloverleaf Health Care in Brazil. He was born on April 12, 1941 in Indianapolis, the son of Jerry T. and Mary Lou (Scott) Griffin.
Griff spent his childhood in Indianapolis and attended school there. He later moved to Tampa, FL and worked in the dry-cleaning business. Upon returning to the area, he worked at the Putnamville State Prison as a laundry supervisor. He did some contract painting in the Brazil area and then was a truck driver for the former Sneath Oil and Moon Trucking Company. Griff was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brazil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry T. and Mary Lou Griffin; two brothers, James William Griffin and his twin brother, Patrick Henry Griffin; a sister, Rose Marie Griffin; a son, Michael; and a grandson, Shelby Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Mildred J. (Klinger) Griffin; children, Beth Ann Smith, Rose Griffin, Tim Griffin and Michelle Griffin; a brother, Jerry Thomas Griffin; grandchildren, Chelsea Smith and Don Rhodes (Stacie); great-grandchildren, Heather and Sabrina Rhodes; and great-great-grandchildren, Grant, Malachi, and Kaiden.
No visitation is scheduled but a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time. Arrangements are under the direction of French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil.
