Jerry Lee Walls, 91, of Lafayette and formerly of Crawfordsville passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at Rosewalk Village, Lafayette.
He was born in Lawrenceville, Illinois, to Earl and Aleen Benson Walls.
Jerry served in the U.S. Army 1950-52 serving in Korea. He worked at RR Donnelley and Sons in the ink department.
He was married to Thelma Mae Moody in February 1953. She preceded him in death in January 1955. On Nov. 19, 1955, he married Phyllis J. Lamb. She preceded him in death May 15, 2018.
Survivors include: children, Judy (Brent) Gleason or Martinsville, Bob Cosby of New Ross, Sue Ann (Jeff) Kincade of Silver Springs, Florida, Mike (Debbie) Walls of Robinson, Illinois, and Janet (Buddy) Benford of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandchildren, Stacey Gresbach, Melissa Junkin, Kelly Rosen, Karey Verduin, Kim Culvahouse, Tiffany Raymond, Kevin Walls, Rachel Hernandez, Jennifer Matherly and Jeremy Benford; 25 great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth Walls of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and sister Mae Engle of Marion, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Earl, Noble, Clyde and Randall; sisters, Mary Lou Burgner, Wanda Dickerson and Virginia Smith; son Tom Walls and granddaughter Laura Beth Kincade Beedle.
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, Aug. 6 at Eastside Baptist Church, with Pastor Steve Whicker officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Interment, with military graveside rites, will be in Indian Creek Hill Cemetery.
