Ann Carol (Moore) Harden, 89, of Center Point, Indiana, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Woodbridge Health Center in Logansport, Indiana.
Ann Carol was born on February 1, 1930 in Clay County, Indiana to David Edgar and Ora Goldie (Bell) Moore. In 1948, she graduated from Brazil High School and also met the love of her life. On July 1, 1950, Ann Carol married Oval Brenton “Brent” Harden. Together, she and Brent served in ministry for over 31 years, pastoring 13 churches in 8 locations in the former South Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. Ann Carol also lead children’s choirs, Bible Studies, Sunday School classes and women’s ministries. After retiring from formal ministry, the couple settled into Clay County where they worked in her home church, Union United Methodist Church. The Hardens had a passion for missions, often leading and serving on work teams or orchestrating mission conferences in local churches. Mrs. Harden also introduced Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan’s Purse) to the area. Besides being involved in the El Shaddai Emmaus community, she was in Home -Ec Club and Clay County Melody Makers. A talented seamstress, Ann Carol focused on quilting for family and friends. She often incorporated her gift of hospitality with her delight of cooking – everyone was welcome at her table. A voracious reader, she also liked working in flowers and traveling with her family.
Ann Carol was the mother of 5 children: Joetta (Clarence) Warthan of Frankfort, IN; Myron (Diana) Harden of New Palestine, IN; Paul (Rita) Harden of Center Point, IN; Colleen Harden of Logansport, IN; and Annetta (Tim) McKaig of Logansport, IN. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Harden was preceded in death by her husband (2013), her parents, her sister Mary M. Moore and brother Beryl David Moore, both of Brazil.
Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 4-8pm and again on Wednesday, at Union United Methodist Church 780 East County Road 600 North Brazil, Indiana 47834 from 10am until 11:00. Services will be held at Union United Methodist Church, on Wednesday, with Rev. Tim McKaig officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
