Albert Marion Burns, 81, of Brazil, Indiana passed away at home, on June 28, 2019, following a brief illness.
He was born on March 8, 1938 in Staunton, Indiana the son of Russell and Tressa (Kirchner) Burns. Following high school Albert joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1955 until 1966. He married Diane Baum on June 6, 1959. Albert worked for Sam Emmert in construction and at Anaconda, in Terre Haute. He retired from Novelis in 2000 after many years of service.
Albert attended the Community Missionary Church, in Brazil. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite of Terre Haute.
Albert is survived by 3 children: Steven Burns and wife Lori of Terre Haute, Rebecca “Becky” Yowell and husband Bradley of Rosedale, and Scott Burns and wife Marian of Brazil; grandchildren: Courtney Chastain (Shawn), Alyssa Koza (Wesley), Lauren Love, Kaitlin Burns, Austin Burns, Baileigh Burns (Caleb), Brandon Stearley, and Adam Yowell (Iris); great-grandchildren: Parker Chastain, Bennett Chastain, Wesley Koza, Alexander Koza, and Hannah Love; a brother Robert Burns (Carmen) of Terre Haute as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Diane Burns; a son David Burns; two siblings: Charles Stackman and Lou Fryman.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Services will be at the funeral home, on Tuesday, at 1:00pm with Pastor Kenny Thomas officiating. Masonic services will be held prior to the services. Burial will be held at Clearview Cemetery with military rites performed by members of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the United States Air Force.
