Stephen Paquin Comments: The Tiger Cubs traveled to Quail Creek GC in Pittsboro to play a veteran and experienced Bruin team. Shooting a school record 149 on a cool, cloudy and drizzling afternoon the Bruins defeated the Cubs, who also shot a season best nine hole score of 169, in the nine hole match. Jaxon led the way with a solid score of 39 on the par 36 front nine, followed by Conner, Benny, and Tyler. We really played pretty solid as none of the Cubs have played the nine that they played this afternoon. Playing an unfamiliar course puts the premium in hitting shots to areas where they can then get the ball on the greens and then able to chip or putt for a good score on each hole. For the most part we achieved that goal. Our younger players continue to lower their scores and are making better decisions on what kind of shots to hit to make lower scores. This was a very good Bruin team and we held our own for the most part. This was a step in the right direction to getting to be a competitive team for looking ahead to Conference, County, and Sectional.
Next Match: Thursday April 25 at Clover Meadows against the Clovers 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Tiger Pointe to host the Tiger Cub Invitational with a shot gun start at 10:00 a.m.
