Coach Doug Wokoun comments: Twin Bridges was a tough test and we were overwhelmed at times. While we did some good things, there were a number of times that we allowed one bad shot to become several and a couple of times it extended to several holes. Wyatt and Michael both did some good things, but also had some frustrations. Cody showed some improvement, but still is searching for consistency. Josh made a couple of pars, but also had some really rough stretches.
Our second visit to Forest Park was a definite improvement. Wyatt and Michael both played well and made steps forward. Cody continued his progress and is nearing the level that we believe he can achieve. Kyle has really come a long way in a week’s time, and is beginning to find a comfort level on the golf course. Josh never seemed to get untracked in this match, and despite some good shots, was not able to find any consistency.
This was a definite step forward for our group, and hopefully is indicative of the progress that we need to see. Everyone felt better about this match, even though Northview had a great round. It falls upon us now to consolidate this progress and move to the next step as we will get our first home match on Thursday.
Cloverdale (1-3) hosts Monrovia Thursday at Clover Meadows.
