Luther Denzel Branstetter

Luther “Luke” Denzel Branstetter of Crawfordsville passed away Monday, April 8, 2019, at Ben Hur Nursing Home, at the age of 84.

Luther worked at RR Donnelley for 42 years, retiring in 1994. Luther was a loving, faithful Christian husband, father, grandfather and brother. Luther was active in the Red Cross and Church of Christ. He enjoyed golfing, yard work and was never one to sit idle.

Born June 23, 1934, in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, he was the son of Rual Paul and Vola Emit Branstetter. His family moved from Kentucky to Boone County in 1946 and he graduated from Jackson Township (Granville Wells) High School in 1952. He married Beverly Myers on May 6, 1956, at Mechanicsburg Christian Church and lived his life with a deep Christian faith.

Surviving family includes: wife Beverly Branstetter; daughter Dianne (Jeff) Terrell of Wichita, Kansas; sons, Larry Branstetter (Sherri Saunders Branstetter) of Lebanon, Brent Branstetter (Christi Quimby Branstetter) of Lafayette and Brian Branstetter (Becky Novak Branstetter) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; grandchildren, Tyler Branstetter, Brittany Branstetter, Lucynda Terrell, Samantha Terrell, Jennifer Terrell, Abby Branstetter, Daniel Branstetter, Olivia Branstetter and Drew Branstetter; and sisters, Juanita Miller, Barbara Baute, Mary Moore and Nancy Wilsher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Vola Branstetter; brothers, Drexel and Harold Branstetter; and sister Delores Kendricks.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 12 at Hunt and Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., Crawfordsville, with service starting at 1 p.m. led by David Elliott, nephew of Luther. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown.
