Janet (Thompson) Stuckey, 74, of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was born Nov. 15, 1944, at Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late Donald Eugene and Dorothy Jean (Beecher) Thompson.
Janet graduated from Crawfordsville High School and graduated from Indiana University in 1965 with a degree in political science. She married Randal Alan Stuckey on Aug. 28, 1965. Janet committed her life to serving others and served on the original board of Halfway Home. She worked at St. Clare Hospital on the Generations Unit for over 10 years as a nurse’s aide. Janet was a member of the Presbyterian Church and attended New Hope Christian Church in Crawfordsville. She enjoyed reading, quilting, political science and spending time with her dog.
She is survived by her husband, Randall Allan Stuckey of Crawfordsville; son Jeff (Julie) Stuckey of Crawfordsville; daughter Kimberly Stuckey of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren, Tressa Gordon, Samantha Gordan, Finnegan Stuckey and Mary Stuckey; great-grandson Landon Burris; brother Neil (Diane) Thompson of Florida; and her dog, Pappy.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14 at Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, 307 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. Pastor John Van Nuys will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Mausoleum.
