Robert “Bob” Wayne Hayes, 66, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at his home on November 30, 2018 following an extended illness.
Bob was born in Brazil, Indiana the son of Raymond J. and Ruby E. (Sadler) Hayes. He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1971. Bob owned and operated Hayes Heating and Cooling for several years. He was also a fireman with the Brazil Fire Department. Bob served as Fire Chief from 1992 – 1995. He retired after 22 years of service to the city.
Bob enjoyed boating, camping, discussing politics, traveling, going on fishing trips, hunting, and spending time with friends and family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Ruby Hayes; his wife Betty Hayes; siblings: Reta Clark, Ruth Scobee, Rose Pearce, and Rodney Hayes.
Survivors include his daughter Sherry Lewis (Rick) and Kenna Hitt (Tony); a step-daughter Lisa Watler Marse (John); grandchildren: Stephanie Schopmeyer (Chad), Shyanna Lewis, Alex Hitt, Don Watler, Jessica Niess, Charla Moore, and Kali Watler; great-grandchildren: Kolton Schopmeyer, Kayson Schopmeyer, and Lela Moore; siblings: Ronald J. Hayes (Judy), Randall Hayes (Carol), Rudolph “Rudy” Hayes (Cathy), Richard Hayes (Leslie), and Rick Hayes as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family member and friends.
