Georgia Lynn Kester, 59, of Brazil, passed away at Union Hospital on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 following a lengthy battle with diabetes
She was born on July 2, 1959, in Clay County, the daughter of Glen Lee and Rosanna (White) Lawrence.
She graduated from VanBuren High School with the class of 1978.
She worked for McDonald’s for many years before taking a job with Riddell National Bank. She had been working there since 1994.
In her younger years she enjoyed crocheting. More recently she enjoyed shopping for her nieces and nephews and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Rosanna Lawrence; her son, Michael Wayne Kester; two brothers, Lee Lawrence and Terry Lawrence; and brothers-in-law Don Hines, Gordon Lane
She is survived by her husband, Michael Kester of Brazil; her daughter, Sara Kester of Colorado; siblings Peggy Hines of Brazil, Jo Ann Wilkerson (Bruce Clawson) of Brazil, Donna Lane of South Carolina, Glenda Brunett (Scott) of Harmony, Tonya Bex of Terre Haute, and Angie Anderson of Brazil; sister-in-law Linda Kay Lawrence of Brazil; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil, on Monday, Oct. 1 from 4-8 p.m.
Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 with Mark Mullinix officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
