The Greencastle Police Department will once again partner with the Greencastle School Corporation and the DEA Office to participate in the National Drug Take Back Day event scheduled for Saturday Oct. 27 from 9 am to 12 pm. The event will be set up at the Greencastle High School located at 910 E. Washington St. Greencastle, IN just outside of the main office area. Residents of Putnam County who have expired medications, unused medications, or unwanted medications in their medicine cabinets can bring them to this event. The medications will be boxed up and delivered to the DEA office downtown Indianapolis where they are placed in an incinerator and destroyed. Residents of Putnam County don’t have to worry about removing labels or any information on the prescription bottles as everything in the box including the box is destroyed in the incinerator.
