Karen L. Neel of Darlington passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, Sept. 14, 2018. She was 71 years young.
Karen was a social worker for many years and loved helping people with her whole heart. She later worked at Coast to Coast and Spi Binding. She loved everything about Ireland and visiting there made her dream come true. She was always eager for the first snow, winter was her favorite season. She loved cooking for family and friends and getting kisses from her granddoggies, but most of all, she loved her family.
Born April 3, 1947, at Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of James and Winnie (Price) Stockdale. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School and received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Evansville.
Surviving family includes: two sons, Jason Neel and Jake Neel (Shelly), both of Crawfordsville; brother John Stockdale; grandchildren, Bryce, Avery, Cody, Jaylena and Derrick; great-grandchildren, Jaylen, Gavyn and Nevaeh. She also leaves behind her cohorts through life; Maryann Bowman and Marcia Caldwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Kay.
Memorial services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday. Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., service at 1 p.m.
