Mariam Denise Morley, 66, passed away in the company of her family at 12:52 a.m. Aug. 22, 2018, at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.
Mariam was born Oct. 29, 1951, at Crawfordsville, the daughter of Ivan Lee and Betty Jean (nee: Elkins) Cedars.
She graduated from Crawfordsville High School and then married Dennis Morley on June 21, 1970. While raising their family, Mariam worked for a time at IMPEX in Crawfordsville and then opened the Silk Patch Flower Shop in Waynetown. She was a talented lady who loved to paint, craft and work with flowers, both arranging and growing out of doors. Mariam loved to be outdoors around firepit with family and friends and watching natures creatures.
Mariam will be greatly missed by her mother, Betty Cedars of Crawfordsville; husband Dennis Morley of Hillsboro; son Eric and wife Kim Morley and their children Brianna and Brayden of Crawfordsville; and daughter Lori and husband Rob Barr and their daughter Rylee Barr of Waynetown. She is also survived by her brothers, Tom and wife Teresa Cedars of Crawfordsville and Bob and wife Dorothy Cedars of Georgia; sister Carol and husband Jerry Whipkey of Crawfordsville; and nieces and nephews and close friends.
In her heart Mariam was a quite person with a close-knit family and group of friends and so chose to have cremation with a private placement of her ashes to be celebrated by her family and best friends. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, is honored to assist her family and friends in following her wishes.
