The Senate has voted to allow Sunday alcohol sales, with a House vote likely to follow on Tuesday. 39 senators voted for a bill allowing alcohol sales from noon to 8 pm on Sundays. The change would take effect July 1. On a voice vote, the House rejected an attempt to extend those hours to match the hours the other six days of the week. The Senate had killed a similar attempt last week. The twin rejections mean the texts of the two bills remain identical, but the House or Senate will still have to pass the other’s bill to send it to Governor Holcomb.
