Drunk Driving Crash in Parke County

On December 21, 2017 at approximately 11:38pm, the Parke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle crash on U.S. 41 approximately 2 miles south of Rockville. A silver Dodge truck and a white Nissan SUV had struck head on, resulting in two fatalities.

 

Two occupants of the Nissan SUV were deceased and the driver, a 17 year old female, was injured and trapped in the vehicle. She was extricated and transported to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute for fractures and lacerations.

 

The driver of the Dodge truck, Bryan Robertson, 41 years old of Rockville, was transported to Union Hospital in Clinton and then later to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for internal injuries. His passenger, Hannah Flaurr, 28 years old of Rockville, was transported to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute for serious injuries.

 

The deceased occupants of the Nissan were identified as D. Michael Eslinger, 74 years old of Rockville, and his wife Darla Eslinger, 73 years old. (Michael Eslinger was a past 4 term Parke County Sheriff and past Executive Director of the Indiana Sheriff’s Association).

 

The driver of the Dodge truck, Bryan Robertson, was found to be intoxicated and is being charged with 2 counts of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Death and 2 counts of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

 

The Vigo County Fatal Accident Crash Team and the Rockville Police Department assisted the Parke County Sheriff’s Office with the scene and crash investigation. Rockville Fire Department, Adams Township Rescue Squad, Lyford Fire Department, Mecca Fire Department, Parke County EMS, and the Parke County Coroner’s Office also assisted at the scene.
