A Plumbing Foreman for the Putnamville Correctional Facility was arrested for stealing items from the Facility last Friday, September 22nd. Dallas Strother from Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 4:18 pm on Friday. Anonymous sources led the Office of Investigation and Intelligence to look into the plumbing foreman’s actions. Plumbing items, rolls or wire, nail guns, and other tools were reported to be missing over several months at the facility and suspicious activities, which includes making items out of state materials and then selling them to other employees, led the Office of Investigation to start monitoring Strother. He was then seen in the acts of theft that he acted upon. The Putnam County Sheriff’s officials were notified and agreed to assist the facility in the investigation after issuing a warrant for Strother’s house and his truck. His house and truck were both searched. After the searches had been performed, Strother admitted to the stealing of several items that he did over a long period of time. He said that he had been hiding them in a crawl space at his house located in Greencastle and that he had offenders from the Putnamville Correctional Facility construct items for him. Strother has been bonded out of jail on a $10,000 bond. The sentencing for these level 6 felonies range from six months to two and a half years in jail.
