Angela Hopson, 41 years old, was arrested for trafficking drugs into the Putnamville Correctional Facility to her Offender husband. The office of Investigations and Intelligence from this facility and Investigator Robert Evans had been investigating Offender Samuel Hopson and his wife for many months. After Hopson’s most recent visit to her husband at the Correctional Facility, she was met by Correctional Police Officer and the Lead Investigator Keith McDonald on her way out. Hopson was then taken to the Office of Investigations and Intelligence for further questioning. A warrant was served from the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office September 19th, by McDonald for any and all device storages, and anything with data and/or memory that she had in her possession or in her vehicle. While the vehicle was being searched, a pill bottle with several different narcotics, which included Xanax, were found inside the bottle that were not prescribed to Hopson. Mrs. Hopson admitted to selling, for the offender Samuel Hopson, Suboxone and her son’s Adderall. She is now also being investigated by the Department of Child Services. Along with these offenses she also admitted to going to Lieber State Park to make sales of narcotics. She has been taken to the Putnam County Jail and charged with trafficking with an inmate, which is a level 6 felony, and the possession of a controlled substance, also a level 6 felony. Her bond is set at $10,000.
