GPD to hold Car Seat Clinic

The Greencastle Police Dept. will once again be conducting its annual Car Seat Clinic as a requirement for the Greencastle Police Department Permanent Fitting Station.  The Child Passenger Safety Week sponsored by NHTSA is the week of Sept. 18 through Sept. 23, 2017.  The Greencastle Police Department is once again partnering with the Putnam County Hospital who will be the hosting site for the clinic.  The Car Seat Clinic will be conducted on Monday Sept. 18, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Putnam County Hospital 1542 S. Bloomington St. in Greencastle.  The Greencastle Police Department will have certified car seat technicians on hand to check car seats.  Certified technicians will be on hand to inspect car seats currently being used for the following items: does the child seat properly fit the child, is the child seat in good working condition, is the child seat on a recall list, is the child seat properly installed in the vehicle and if the child seat has gone past six years from the expiration date.  If a problem or defect is discovered with a child restraint seat, then the technician can replace the seat.  If anyone has any questions regarding the Car Seat Clinic they can call (765)653-2925 and ask for Chief Tom Sutherlin or Capt. Chris Jones.
