Robert Donlin Myers

Robert Donlin Myers, 70, of Clay City, passed away on July 13, 2017, peacefully, at his home.
He was born on May 30, 1947 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Charles William and Mary Alice (Fisher) Myers. In 1965, he graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in Terre Haute, Indiana. He served four years with the United States Air Force as Sergeant. He then served 2 years in the Air National Guard. After the military, he worked as a custodian for Riley Elementary School. He then retired after 30 years of enjoying his work.

In his spare time, Robert loved spending time with his great grandchildren. He enjoyed doing crossword and jig saw puzzles, fishing, and bird hunting. Robert was a John Wayne enthusiast. He was also a member of the Riley VFD.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christina Myers and infant brother, James Martin Myers.

He is survived by his daughter, Robin Sims (David Pittman); grandchildren, Samantha Powell (Anthony) and Ashley Glass; great-grandchildren Makaitlyn Champion, Nevaeh Lynch, and Brayson Powell; brothers, Jeffrey Myers and Michael Myers; sisters, Karla Armstrong and Connie Fisher; a special friend and neighbor, Kathy Stephens and her son, Anthony and his children; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, July 17, 2017 from 4pm until 8pm at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 E 8th Street, Clay City, IN 47841. Per his request, cremation will follow. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
