Plainfield Police Department Warn Citizens of Phone Scam

The Plainfield Police Department has reported that two Plainfield residents have received calls in which the caller stated “the Plainfield Police Department has a warrant out for your arrest and unless you pay money by credit card, someone will come get you”. This call is a phone scam. It is not the practice of the Plainfield Police Department to call resident in order to collect money for outstanding warrants. Do not fall prey to this scam and do not give out any of your personal information to strangers. If you receive a call similar to this you are encouraged to hang up immediately and report the call to the Plainfield Police Department at (317) 838-3565.
