Coach Doug Wokoun comments: It was a beautiful day, probably the best weather we have ever had for this tournament. However, the wind started to pick up just as we were approaching the open part of the course, and the wind was howling pretty quickly. We were playing okay until that point. I am not sure whether we were more affected physically or psychologically by the wind, but our scores did go up.
Once again, we did some very good things, but we also allowed ourselves to make some mistakes that were pretty costly. Zach and Drew both played very well at times, but were undone by just a few holes. Tyler had a very good round overall, but also put himself in some tough spots.
We really need to step back and assess situations better, and I think that will come with more experience. This game requires that you make adjustments and recover, and that is still our biggest obstacle.
Cloverdale (0-1) travels to Phil Harris to play Shakamak and Northview on Monday.
