Margaret Jean (Rissler) Jackson

Margaret Jean (Rissler) Jackson, 93, formerly of Brazil, IN passed away March 12, 2017, at Westminster Village, in Terre Haute, where she had been living since 2012.

She was born Aug 9, 1923, the oldest of 2 children born to Clyde & Alma (Byers) Rissler, near Reelsville, IN. Margaret graduated from Reelsville High School in 1941. She graduated from Union Hospital Nursing School in Terre Haute in 1944 as a registered nurse.

Margaret married Paul Glen Jackson on October 17, 1947, who passed away 59 years later in 2007.

Margaret spent her adult life in Brazil, raising her family and working as a surgery nurse at Clay County Hospital, until her retirement in 1983.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Alma Rissler, husband Paul Jackson, and an infant daughter Glenna Kay Jackson.

Margaret is survived by 3 children: Paula Spencer & husband John of TN, Tom Jackson & wife Bette Jo of MO, and Roger Jackson & wife Angie of KS, one brother Bob Rissler & wife Joan of Reelsville, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Brazil and later a member of Carbon Baptist Church in Carbon.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 4-7pm. Services will be at the funeral home, Wednesday, at 11:00am.
