Single Vehicle Accident Caused by Faulty Power Steering

On Thursday, March 2nd, the Clay County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle accident near the intersection of County Road 300 West and State Road 340 around 3:40pm. According to reports, Cyndi J. Moore was driving a Gray Buick Roadmaster and attempted to turn east from McKinley Crossing Road onto SR 340. When negotiating the turn, Moore turned too wide, which caused the Buick to leave the roadway and hit a ditch. The vehicle then continued into a utility pole, crossed County Road 300 West, hit a road sign, then came to rest in a resident’s yard. There were no reports of injuries. Authorities suspect the failure of power steering was to blame for this accident.
