CDC Gives Tips to Keep your Home Safe and Warm This Winter

For some people the thought of winter brings good news and excitement, while for others the thought of winter brings everything except excitement. However, regardless of one’s thought of winter, majority will agree that winter usually means cold weather and snow. When it comes to keeping your home warm and safe during the winter months the Center for Disease Control and Prevention suggests mounting of weather stripping, insulation and storm windows, Insulate water lines that run along exterior walls, ensure gutters are cleaned and repairs are made to roof leaks, check your heat systems, clean and inspect fireplaces, ensure your smoke detector is working and that the batteries are tested monthly, have safe alternatives to heating and finally it is recommended that you install a Carbon Monoxide detector. These tips will help keep your house safe this winter and allow you to sleep with a little peace of mind.
