Gloria A. Pittman, 61, of Carbon, Indiana, passed away at Union Hospital, December 8, 2016 following a brief illness.
Gloria was born in Clinton, Indiana, August 14, 1955, the daughter of Willard and Doris (Pruett) Thompson. She graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1973. Gloria worked as a cook for many years. She also worked at IndyBake, at Howard Johnson and as a bartender. In her free time she enjoyed hanging out with friends, dancing, playing pool and painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Doris Thompson and a brother, Forest Carpenter.
Gloria is survived by her daughter Jennifer Black of Carbon, a grandson Zachery Peebles, step-sons: Dennis Black and wife Barbara of Alabama and Matthew Black and wife Marybeth of Florida; two brothers: Richard Thompson of Parke County, Indiana and Andrew Thompson and wife Linda of Clinton, Indiana; a sister Nina Mizell and husband Joe of Crawfordsville, Indiana and a sister-in-law Margie Carpenter of Indianapolis, Indiana, companion Thomas Larry Pittman of Brazil, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 11am until 1pm. Services will be at the funeral home, Saturday, at 1:00pm.
