Jeffrey Lee McGuire, 53, of Clay City, passed away December 3, 2016 at his home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with Cancer. Jeff is the strongest man his family knows and he portrayed his strength countless times over the past five years as he battled Cancer.
Jeff was born December 12, 1962 in Phoenix, AZ, the son of Gwynn Findlay (Stuhlemmer) and the late Everett Lee McGuire. He was employed as a truck driver most of his life. Jeff loved working on his 1972 Nova, hunting and fishing, and will be remembered for the excellent cook he was. He especially loved making different meals with deer meat. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Jeff was his son’s hero and he will be missed by everyone.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Hope McGuire; sister, Lita Marie McGuire; and brother-in-law, Andre Figures.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Gwynn Findlay; children, Derrick McGuire and Tia McGuire; grandchild, Brayden McGuire; siblings, Everett McGuire Jr., Tracy Figures, Chris McGuire Sr. (Gail), Lance Findlay; close friend that is like a son, John Boy; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services will be Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11am at Schoppenhorst Funeral home with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be Thursday at 4pm until 8pm in Jeff’s garage, 106 Main St. Clay City, IN 47841.
