On Tuesday, November 29th Morgan County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call of suspected shots fired at the Eminence School building at approximately 1:15pm. A lockdown was issued when school personnel heard suspicious popping sounds coming from outside of the school. Law enforcement was notified immediately. The school building and school grounds were secured and no one was injured. Deputies began investigating the area and were able to find two shell casings along Ind. 42. Dispatchers were also notified of the source of the gun shots from a caller who advised that they heard three gun shots coming from a dark green jeep that was traveling north on Ind. 42. As of now deputies have not determined the direction the bullets traveled as no damage to the school building has been found. School dismissal was conducted as normal. The investigation is ongoing.
