The Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department Board of Park Commissioners met last night to discuss several events going on at our local parks. One of the issues brought up during the meeting was a water leak found at the Greencastle Aquatics Center’s Bob York Splash Park. Rod Weinschenk the Park Director of the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department gives us a recap.

The water loss from the leak has been estimated to be 868,000 gallons of water. Water service has been stopped temporarily in the area of the issue to prevent further water loss. The problem is suspected to be a a faulty pipe underneath the concrete that is connected to a hydrant. The Department plans to have the faulty part identified by tomorrow and repaired within the week.
