Yesterday at approximately 6pm, ISP Trooper Colton Maynor of the Putnamville Post was off duty and heading westbound on US 40 in Putnam County. As the off duty officer approached the intersection at US 231 he noticed an unconscious man in a ditch along US 40. Immediately the officer parked on the side of the road, called for emergency medical services, and began to perform first aid. The first aid that was administered was able to bring the unconscious man into half consciousness by the time Putnam County Operation Life arrived on scene. The man was then taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital where he was treated for mental health issues caused by being under the influence of large doses of Hydrocodone and Xanax. Putnam County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
