Wonderful opportunity this evening to share in the discussion session with Miranda Spivack, The Pullium Distinguished Visiting Professor of Journalism at Depauw.
Miranda, a news veteran with more than 40 years in the business is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, and holds a masters degree from Yale Law School. She is a former Washington Post Reporter and Editor who specializes in Government accountability stories. Highly interesting evening hearing her experiences during election cycles and the impact of press conferences, sound bites, debates, rallies, and 24 hour news saturation. Miranda has won numerous awards for her local government reporting and a series of stories on the lack of transparency at the state and local level. Her perspective was very enlightening.
