Hubert “Dink” Summers Jr., 50, of Brazil, entered eternal life on October 16, 2016 at his home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Dink was born December 3, 1965 in Clay County, the son of the late Hubert and Mary Jane (Crague) Summers. He was a member of the last graduating class from Brazil High School in 1984. Dink married the love of his life Eddra Kay Felty on September 27, 1986. He worked as a maintenance Supervisor at the Reception Diagnostic Center in Plainfield for over twenty years. Dink was a member of the Coon Hunters Club and American Legion Post 2. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dink also enjoyed trapping, buying and selling fur, and collecting coins. He was known to take a month off of work every year to be in the outdoors. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Kay Summers; daughters, Erin Straw (Dacota), Tara Foley (Jacob); grandchildren, Alexandria Straw and Connor Foley; siblings, Angela Wellman (Brian), Matthew Summers (Pearl), Jenniffer Taylor (Mike); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services will be Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1pm at Carbon Baptist Church, 14100 N Murphy Rd, Carbon, IN 47837, with Pastor David Ferry and Barry Corder officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at 10am until time of the service at the church. A carry in dinner will take place during remembrance time from 10am until 12pm at the church.
