CMV Trooper Locates Counterfeit Items During Traffic Stop

On September 28th at 12:43, an Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement trooper stopped a gold Toyota Sienna minivan for following too close on eastbound Interstate 70 near the 52 mile marker. During conversation with the driver, the trooper noticed possible indicators of criminal activity. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 1,400 counterfeit clothing items believed to be destined for fall festivals in Indiana and Ohio. The items included gloves, hats, and jackets manufactured in China and displayed the logos of North Face and UGG. The street value of the items is estimated at $70,000. Both North Face and UGG  companies will be contacted by the trooper to make them aware of this event. Arrested was Jian Ye, age 39, male of Flushing, New York. He was charged with Counterfeiting and incarcerated in the Morgan County Jail.
