Mathew H. Pollom, 73, of Brazil, passed away at Union Hospital, in Terre Haute, September 20, 2016 following a battle with cancer.
Mat was born in Indianapolis, Indiana February 12, 1943 the son of Ervin and Delores Ruth (Swanson) Pollom. Mat graduated from Sandusky Ohio High School. He worked for General Electric for many years and retired in 1994. Mat was a Boy Scout leader for 10 years and worked with the Clay Youth Football League for 15 years. He was also a 32 degree Mason.
Mat was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Delores Pollom; his 1st wife Nancy (Stevenson) Pollom; 4 sisters Donna Irwin, Tory Yocum, Penny Knapp and Liz Osborn; and 4 brothers Tom Pollom, Charles Pollom, John Pollom and Dick Pollom.
Mat is survived by his wife Shirley (Dowell) Myers Pollom; 3 children: Chuck Pollom and wife Beth of Avon, Delores Alderman and husband Jerry of Indianapolis, and Mat Pollom and wife Jennifer of Terre Haute; grandchildren: Kennedy, Sloan, Misty (Jared), Katie, Devin, Elizabeth, Olivia, and Ben; great-grandchildren: Thomas and Nikkie Justice; siblings, Jim Pollom (Janell) of Omaha, NE, Valena Snowden of Wooster, Ohio, Rick Pollom of Ban Khai, Rayong, Thailand; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Cremation services have been entrusted to French Funeral Home, in Brazil. Burial will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery.
