TAM “Lights of Hope” Vigil for Addiction Awareness

September is National Recovery Month and The Addict’s Mom, a.k.a. TAM, will be hosting their annual nationwide campaign to honor and support those whose lives have been touched by addiction. TAM will be in charge of over 100 events that will be conducted across the country, including an event here in Greencastle. On September 24th the Greencastle Community is encouraged to meet at the Putnam County Courthouse at 5pm for the “Lights of Hope” event. Though it’s not required, participants may bring a candle to light for addiction awareness. Designated candle colors include Red: to honor someone currently struggling with active addiction; White: to honor someone in recovery; and Black: to honorably signify someone who has lost the battle to addiction. Participants are also encouraged to bring a picture of their loved ones for the ceremony. The public is advised to bring any necessary seating as seating is not provided for the event.
