Donald Wayne Miller, 77, of Brazil, passed away, September 13, 2016 at 6:18pm, in his home, following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born February 18, 1939 in Parke County, the son of Seldon and Lorene Craig Miller. He graduated from Bridgeton High School, Class of 1957. In high school, he enjoyed sports and excelled in baseball and track. He was united to Virginia Downing Miller on December 10, 1961. She preceded him in death.
Don worked as a young man, as a surveyor as I-70 was beginning and at Shakamak State Park. He later worked at Eli Lily at the Clinton Laboratory for nearly 30 years.
Don and Jenny attended Bee Ridge Christian Church, Christ Community and these last years, Don attended Grace Chapel when his health allowed. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, raising beagles and coon dogs. He also enjoyed traveling with Jenny, and antiquing searching for unique finds.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jenny Miller in 2005; sister, Doris Lee; daughter Jennifer Miller Kersey, and grandson, Ian Christian Miller.
Survivors include his son, Tobin Miller and wife Cindy of Brazil; grandchildren, Sam Kersey and Cam Kersey of Kansas, and Sami Miller of Brazil; brothers, Roland “Butch” Miller (Charlene), and Seldon Robert “Bob” Miller (Joan); sister Alma “Ann” Knox; several nieces, nephews and extended family
Visitation will be Saturday from 10-11:00am at French Funeral Home. Services and burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery at 11:30am, with Pastor Tim Russell officiating.
