According to a recent report discussed by the Putnam County Convention and Visitor Bureau members during their regularly scheduled meeting, Putnam County has generated $83.2 Million on tourism in 2015. The report was created by Certec, Inc. which specializes in tourism impact studies. From here the results will be used as a reference for the CVB to assess the productivity and effectiveness of future endeavors. The percentage of the tourism revenue was generated by food and drinks that accounted for approximately 32% of generated revenue. Next was shopping with approximately 27%, transportation and lodging at approximately 13.5% and admission fees for parks or events combined with souvenir purchases totaled approximately 7% of the $83.2 million.
